Before, she was unaware. She never expected any of this to happen. But then again, everything happens for a reason. She stood there looking back on it all, how they met, and how they are now. They were just two people figuring out how to get by. And then, they met. She was a wild one, not one for settling down. She was guarded by the walls she put up. She thought distance would save her. She was scared to get close to anyone because those who’d say, “I’m always here” left. Maybe it's the way they playfully teased. Maybe it's the way they felt side by side. But they looked at each other a little too long to be “just friends”. She wanted him in the bluntest way. She wanted his laugh, his smile, his eyes. She wanted him the way stories want to be told, the way memories want to be made, the way people want to be remembered. This time was different. Something changed. And she kind of liked it, so she took a chance.
Reflection
Monologues are not as hard to write as I initially thought. This gave me more time to come up with something more creative and manage my time easier. I chose to write about love. I highlighted that love isn't always easy but there are always ways to work things out. I made a goal to have completed a certain amount of work done each day in order to get feedback. After the writing was done, I gave it to my peers for a last piece of critique, and then I started working on my art piece. Considering my project was done on time, with it being high quality produced work, I feel like I was on task to get everything completed on time.
